Reconciling United Methodists in Northern Illinois are committed Christian leaders who follow Christ's call to welcome all including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex people! We offer our witness in United Methodist Churches in the Northern Illinois Annual Conference and beyond.

Currently over 1100 congregations, communities and campus ministries united in a network of  over 41,000 United Methodists practicing biblical obedience - to "love one another" while working to end the discriminatory policies and language in our denomination's Book of Discipline. Of those, 53 of them are right here in the Northern Illinois Conference!
Bishop Dyck makes statement on Trials:
At the special session of the Northern Illinois Conference, Bishop Sally Dyck acknowledged the harm the United Methodist Church is doing to LGBTQ clergy and colleagues. "We see you, we love you, and our hearts break at the damage that the church is doing in forcing shame, isolation, silence, and fear in your lives right now," she said in her opening Episcopal Address. “I will not facilitate or move on trial complaints against LGBTQ clergy or clergy who perform same-gender weddings."
She also reminded that we are a 'reconciling conference' since 1986, and that we passed legislation in the June session that no conference funds could be used for the investigation of LGBTQ- related complaints or trials.
